Our new website is currently in progress…

HOKISA is proud to announce the successful installation of our new solar energy system—an exciting step forward in our commitment to sustainability and energy independence.

A Smarter, More Sustainable Energy Solution

Our new system is designed to provide reliable, efficient power while reducing our reliance on the national grid. It includes:

  • A 10.5kW inverter
  • 22 solar panels with a total capacity of 10.2kW
  • Five batteries providing 20.5kWh of energy storage

Together, these components allow us to prioritise solar and battery power, ensuring a stable energy supply for the home.

How It Works

During the day, the system uses solar energy to power daily operations while charging the batteries. At night, stored energy is used first before switching to grid electricity. This approach helps us optimise energy usage, reduce costs, and operate more sustainably.

Importantly, the system also safeguards essential services during power outages—ensuring uninterrupted care and stability for the children in our home.

A Long-Term Investment

This installation is built to last, with warranties of up to 10 years on key components and up to 30 years of performance assurance on the solar panels. It represents not just a short-term improvement, but a long-term investment in HOKISA’s future.

Real Impact

Since its implementation, the system has already generated savings of R25,918.20. These savings allow us to redirect more resources toward what matters most: the care, development, and well-being of the children.

Thank You to Our Supporters

This milestone would not have been possible without the generous support of our partners. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Wilde Ganzen and De Stichting Vrienden van HOKISA in Nederland for their invaluable contribution to making this project a success.
